Kenya Premium Green Coffee Beans
On a historical note: coffee was introduced into Kenya by way of Ethiopia at the end of the 19th century. It was brought for local cultivation by the Fathers of the Holy Spirit congregation, another case of the long and twisted road that religion and coffee have traveled together!
Kenya's reputation as East Africa's top quality coffee producer is unsurpassed. Many in the coffee trade would say that Kenya's coffee is the best in the world, and it would be hard to mount a convincing rebuttal. As a single origin coffee, Kenya more often than not draws the most praise on our daily tasting table.
Kenyan coffee is one of the finest coffees out of eastern Africa. Kenya is one of the very few African countries to produce Arabica varieties almost exclusively. Kenya employs the most sophisticated methods in the world in its production, treatment and marketing of coffee.
Kenya AA is grown on rich volcanic soils, found in the highlands grown between 4500 and 6000 feet above sea level. There are broad, gently rounded ridges sloping not too steeply into great valleys which run swift perennial streams. The red volcanic soil is of great depth and fertility on the slopes, ensuring good drainage. The climate is mild never too hot nor too cold. Rainfall is well distributed throughout the year and varies between 40" and 50" per annum. The coffee produced from these lands is some of the best in the world. The unique geography of its native soil gives Kenyan coffee its excellent body, heady aroma. Very little bitterness and is one of the most popular coffees among serious coffee drinkers.Mellow, balanced acidity with sublime overtones of berries and citrus fruits.
